The project is inspired by the typical houses structure of ancient Kuwait’s villages which presented, in the middle, a large covered courtyard on which overlooked the main activities. The building presents a main entrance that leads to the main plaza, decorated with water elements for cooling effect, covered by a light structure with masharabiyes in corten steel which reproduce the typical pattern of Kuwait’s culture and guarantee a shading device. These measures allow a natural ventilation of a environments. Embassy, Private Dewan and Ambassador’s House overlook on this square space while Consulate and Publiuc Dewan entrances are on the public street. The interior floors are in travertine and Emperador marble, with drawings that reflect the pattern of masharabiyes, and carpets; the inner walls instead are made with bands of shake wood and glass with sand blasted pattern.
