Start-Up Company Facility in Grosseto


The project for the start-up container borns in order to create a small urban unit into a context where the building are closed and not related to the outside, dotted a with conventional, smaller or larger, industrial buildings. The start-up container, a facility for fielding new productive business ventures was created by the designer to become an attractive element able to emanate new productive solutions and also to give a distinctive character  to  the industrial context. furthermore this building has to host the advanced light industry. The projects includes two volumes: the northern building, smaller,  hosts the craft sector blocks; the other facility, 2 storeys height above ground, hosts the light industry and research modules into a wing and the administration plus a small auditorium and continuing education classrooms in the other wing. Thus three parts of a unit complex which creates a urban solution made of a covered central square, the central pedestrian street, exterior vehicular connections. Sustainable is essential features of the project and is built into the volumes and facades by bioclimatic solutions: ventilated walls on south, sun control louvers on the last floor; while the overhangs provides to keep in shade the ground floor. Volumes intersection creates a large shelter space allows to became a square and to host temporary expositions. These elements create a wise passive cooling system able to guarantee high level of indoor comfort, particularly important in the Mediterranean climate. Furthermore photovoltaic modules on the roof also contribute to improving the ecological balance of the building.
